Young Adults Community
The River West Young Adults Community aims to connect young adults and young professionals, ages 22-35, to the life of the church and create meaningful relationships with one another. Our vision is to build a community of Christ for the world as young adults who embrace their identity as resilient disciples of Jesus, following him alongside friends through all of life's transitions.
No matter where you find yourself in this season of life, we invite you to join our community and build relationships, ask questions, and grow together as disciples of Jesus.
Our Values
Church Discipleship
To be at our healthiest, our aim is to be integrated into the life of River West Church. This may include our Sunday worship, Formation classes, events, serve teams, and even other community groups or Bible studies. This helps us cultivate relationships and belonging in our church family – even as we meet regularly as a Young Adults Community.
Friendship
Our Young Adults Community is for anyone at any stage of life. Whether you’re single, married, navigating parenthood, a recent college graduate or well into your career – if you’re between the ages of 22 and 35, we have a seat for you at the table.
Own the 5pm Gathering
Our aim is to be Young Adults who worship together and take ownership, pride, and responsibility for our church. Our desire is to do this by attending and hosting our 5:00pm Sunday Worship service. Whether we’re greeters, ushers, or Communion prep – the way we can love our church is by serving together at this service.

Community Group
On Thursdays at 6:45pm, we meet for a time of Bible study, prayer, communion, and connection. Our typical study is centered around the previous Sunday sermon. We meet in a house by River West Church, so email derrick@riverwest.org to get the address.
Serve our Church
Our desire is not to exist for ourselves but to partner with God in “building a community of Christ for the world.” This means we want to love and care for the beautiful city we call home. There will be opportunities throughout the year where we will serve our city together with various ministry partnerships.
Fun Events
Throughout the year (especially summer!) we gather for some fun! Whether it’s a potluck, board games, day at the park, movie, or happy hour — our events are intended to be pathways for the young adults in our community to connect and cultivate friendship.
5pm Sunday Gathering
Our aim is to be young adults who love our church family by being deeply integrated and taking on leadership roles. We want to do this by attending, serving, and owning our 5pm Sunday gathering. Meet up with other young adults and worship together every week at the 5pm!
Serve our City
Our desire is not to exist for ourselves but to partner with God in “building a community of Christ for the world.” This means we want to love and care for the beautiful city we call home. There will be opportunities throughout the year where we will serve our city together with various ministry partnerships.
Retreats
We will take a moment in the year to get away from the noise and connect more intentionally with Christ and one another. Whether it’s been Pacific City, Black Butte, or Sunriver, each retreat leaves us filled with the Holy Spirit as we step back into our regular rhythms.
