Adam McMurray has served as a pastor in our church for 19 years, 7 of those as our Senior Pastor.  He and his wife Cathy have two daughters - Lauren and Bridget - and two sons-in-law.  Adam came to River West Church in 2006 after serving for 11 years with a ministry called Young Life, an evangelistic ministry focused on bringing the gospel to teenagers. Shaped by these early years of ministry, Adam has a heart to encourage the church to live out the beauty and hope of the gospel of Christ and to fulfill its Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations.

Adam has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Willamette University and a Masters of Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary in Portland Oregon.

Adam loves running, reading, and German Soccer.

Christopher came to faith in Christ at 17 through the ministry of Young Life. That calling led him to Bible college at Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma, where he met his wife, Julie. He later earned his Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies (MABTS) from Western Seminary. Over the years, he has served the local church in a variety of roles, but his passion remains the same: seeing the Church grow in health and mission, making a lasting impact for Christ in both our city and the world. Christopher and Julie have two amazing boys—Hayden and Asher—as well as two highly energetic dogs, Huckleberry (a silver lab) and Tilly (a German Shorthair Pointer).

Fun fact: Christopher is an avid salmon fisherman. His garage? Let’s just say it could double as a Cabela’s catalog.

It was through the ministry of Young Life that Derrick encountered Jesus and the truth of the gospel. As he shared his testimony with friends during his early college years, he began to sense a call to vocational ministry. That calling took him from Santa Barbara to Biola University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. Most importantly, a series of (wild!) events led him to a position at River West Church! It was at River West that Derrick met his wife, Kylie, in the Young Adults group. He holds a master’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary and has a deep appreciation for both the charismatic and liturgical traditions. Derrick’s passion is to see people grow in their discipleship through deep spiritual friendship and community—where they experience Jesus as they are seen, known, and loved while sharing life together. A simple guy at heart, Derrick is happiest spending time with Kylie and friends, doing anything outdoors, or even catching a movie solo!

Eric grew up in a pastor’s home in a wonderful family that followed Jesus but it was not until he was 19 and a student at Vanguard University that he sensed his own calling to pastoral ministry.  After college, he began dating Annmarie and they have been married for nearly 17 years and have three kids — Judah, Finley and Nash — and golden retriever.  In 2008 he accepted a job in a state he’d never been to (Oregon), in a town he’d never heard of (Lake Oswego) to work with a church where he didn’t know anybody (River West Church).  Eric’s vision for pastoral ministry is that “ministry flows out of relationships”: our relationship with the Triune God and our relationships with His Image Bearers.  Over many joyful years at River West, Eric has been able to serve our church in a number of ways and stay true to this pastoral vision.  In 2021, he completed his Masters of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies at Western Seminary and it only took him 11 years!  His current assignment at River West is working with the pastoral team to help our church family grow deeper in our discipleship to Jesus.

Fun fact: Eric loves running and is a bigger fan of the San Francisco Giants than you are of your favorite team!

Kathleen came to faith at a young age and was deeply shaped by the kids and youth ministries of her home church in Texas. After graduating from Wake Forest University, she spent many years teaching middle and high school. During this season, she met her husband, Mike, while working at a summer Christian camp. They now have two grown children, Maddie and Mason.

Kathleen loves hiking, skiing, and spending time with her family. Since 2008, she has been actively involved in kids ministry and has a passion for helping children experience the truth of the gospel and the love of Jesus. She truly believes that River West Kids partners with parents as they raise the next generation of Christ followers!

Mary Ann serves as the Pastor to Women and is a member of the Preaching Team at River West Church. She is passionate about helping people grow in their understanding of God’s Word and learning how to apply His truth to every aspect of their everyday lives. With a deep love for Scripture and a heart for spiritual growth, she brings both theological depth and personal warmth to her teaching and leadership. Mary Ann holds a Master’s degree in Biblical Theology from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and a Doctorate in Spiritual Formation from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts. Her academic training, combined with years of ministry experience, fuels her desire to see others formed into the likeness of Christ. Mary Ann has been joyfully married to her husband Bob for 41 years. They have two grown sons, Adam and Spencer. When she’s not teaching or writing, you can often find her enjoying the outdoors or playing with her three beloved Golden Retrievers.

Mike brings over 30 years of ministry experience to the River West team and has been on staff since 2008.  He graduated from the University of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!) and received his masters degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He's passionate about equipping and encouraging men to grow in Christlike love and service in all the roles they play. Mike met his wife, Kathleen, our children's ministry pastor, at a summer camp in New Mexico while they were both in college. They have two adult children, Maddie and Mason. Mike is an avid swimmer and enjoys mountain biking and hiking. When he inevitably injures himself doing one of those, he enjoys less strenuous activities like reading, watching movies and college football.

Paul and his wife Kris have devoted their lives to raising a family of four as well as to serving the Lord in various capacities. Like many pastors, Paul began in youth ministry until he shifted to being a church planter and senior pastor. Now as our global impact pastor, he is able to pursue his passion for reaching the world through global missions. The Lord has opened up this new assignment at River West to serve our goal of building a community of Christ for the world. Paul can often be found in coffee shops, riding his bike, or secretly playing his guitar when no one's listening. Paul has a BA from Stanford University, an MDiv from Fuller Seminary, and a DMin from Ligonier Academy.

Tiffany grew up in sunny Southern California, which helps explain a deep love for the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, gathering around a campfire, or simply enjoying the fresh air. After earning a Master’s in Counseling Ministry from California Baptist University, Tiffany is dedicated to walking alongside others as they explore who Jesus is and who He has called them to be.

With experience across a variety of ministry platforms—including camping ministry, collegiate ministry, and parachurch organizations—Tiffany brings a rich and diverse background to Student Ministry. These experiences have shaped a deep heart for people and a passion for creating safe, encouraging environments where students can ask questions, grow in faith, and encounter the transforming love of Christ.

Whether supporting students, encouraging parents, or building community within the church, Tiffany is excited to be part of what God is doing and to help others step more fully into their identity and calling in Christ.
