Students Ministry

Learning and growing in faith together.

6th-8th Grade

Junior High

The middle school years can be a significant time of learning how to make friends, engage in community, and all the while still wanting to be a kid. In our Junior High Ministry, we hope to create a space for students to come, play, and engage in a space where they feel seen, known, and loved. And in that space, they would find themselves encountering our God who sees, knows, and loves them.

JH Group

Sundays | 11am

This year we are studying the Book of Acts! We are excited for this study and look forward to seeing the history of the first followers of Jesus and how the church began to grow!

JH MidWeek

Wednesdays | 6:30pm

Every Wednesday evening, our Junior High community gathers to play games, enjoy pizza, and go deeper in small group conversations about faith and being in relationship with Jesus.

9th-12th Grades

High School

Community is a necessity. We desire our High School Ministry to be a place that reflects the larger church body. What you can expect is a group of students and leaders who love the Lord and are seeking Him together. This group reflects the hospitable nature of Jesus as they warmly welcome others in. We hope to grow in our worship and affection for Christ and His Word, and in turn deepen our relationships with each other.

HS Group

Sundays | 9am

High School Group provides students a place to learn about Jesus, worship, and engage with other students in faith conversation! We start by worshiping in the sanctuary and then head into the Student Ministry Room for a time of teaching and small group discussion.

HS Hangs

Tuesdays | 7pm

Tuesday Night Hangs provide a time for High School students to connect, play, and go deeper in conversation with each other. This year, we’ll be going through different topics such as what it means to practice the rhythms of Jesus, Christian Sexuality, and the key pillars of our faith as Christians.

FAQs

Questions?

We’re happy to answer any questions you have. Contact us below and we’ll be in touch soon.

What can my student expect at a typical gathering?

Students can look forward to a welcoming environment that includes fun activities, worship, relevant Bible teaching, and small group discussions led by adult leaders who walk alongside students in their faith journey.

Do leaders and volunteers go through background checks?

Yes. Every adult leader and volunteer completes an application, reference checks, and a background check to ensure the safety of all students.

How can parents get involved or stay informed?

Parents are an important part of our ministry! You can partner with us by volunteering, praying for students, and staying connected through our parent newsletter and event calendar. To join our weekly newsletter, contact Pastor Tiffany at tiffany@riverwest.org.

Are there costs involved in Student Ministry?

Weekly gatherings are always free! Some events, such as camps, retreats, or mission trips, may have a cost—but we never want finances to be a barrier. Scholarships and assistance are available!

How does Student Ministry support students spiritually?

We are committed to helping students grow in their relationship with Jesus through worship, teaching, small groups, mentorship, and service opportunities. Beyond our weekly gatherings, we host before-school Bible studies, connect with students on their campuses, and meet throughout the week to provide ongoing support.

Tiffany Hamilton

Tiffany grew up in sunny Southern California, which helps explain a deep love for the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, gathering around a campfire, or simply enjoying the fresh air. After earning a Master’s in Counseling Ministry from California Baptist University, Tiffany is dedicated to walking alongside others as they explore who Jesus is and who He has called them to be.

With experience across a variety of ministry platforms—including camping ministry, collegiate ministry, and parachurch organizations—Tiffany brings a rich and diverse background to Student Ministry. These experiences have shaped a deep heart for people and a passion for creating safe, encouraging environments where students can ask questions, grow in faith, and encounter the transforming love of Christ.

Whether supporting students, encouraging parents, or building community within the church, Tiffany is excited to be part of what God is doing and to help others step more fully into their identity and calling in Christ.
