Support Safe and Stable Housing with Catalyst NW
Catalyst NW brings communities together to provide free, essential home repairs for low-income families across the Portland metro area. Many of these homes belong to elderly or disabled individuals who cannot afford or manage repairs, leaving them in unsafe conditions. Through restoration, Catalyst NW helps create peace of mind, stability, and a sense of belonging for our neighbors in need.
PROJECT:
Ms. Hall has owned her mobile home for 15 years. She faces serious breathing-related health challenges and has been living in a home that desperately needs critical repairs.
In summer 2024, Catalyst stepped in to replace a severely leaking roof that had caused catastrophic ceiling damage in nearly 80% of her home. Thanks to support from the ECP program ceiling insulation was installed in March, they returned in May to install and paint a brand-new ceiling—offering safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
Now, they're returning to continue the transformation. They’ll be repairing and replacing about 40% of the home’s water-damaged wall framing and siding and giving the exterior a fresh coat of paint. In addition, they’ll rebuild a rotting backdoor landing that currently poses a serious safety hazard.
This four-day project needs your help!
We’re seeking 18–20 volunteers per day, with two shift options to fit your schedule.
