Our study in Deuteronomy brings us face to face with one of the most troubling issues as New Covenant Christians: the violence in the Old Testament. As followers of Jesus, what are we to make of the stories of the people of God wiping out other people groups, not to mention a God who appears to sanction such events. Too often the explanations for this conundrum have left people unsatisfied or with the suggestion that there is a difference between the so-called "God of the Old Testament" and the "God of the New Testament". Join us for a long-form lecture in which we will address this issue head-on. We're not going to minimize or over-simplify. Although complicated, this issue does not have to derail a person's faith.
