As we look ahead to 2022, we're excited to share with you our plans for two mission trips — one to South Korea and the other to Canada! At our December 12th informational meeting, we'll share details, answer questions, and communicate information regarding applications for both trips! Here's a quick note about each trip:
South Korea (open to current 8th-12th graders): This will be our fourth trip to Ilsan, South Korea, where we partner with Holt International to serve among a community of folks impacted by disability. We'll spend our time taking residents on walks, facilitating outings and events, as well as helping with projects throughout their property. This trip will be 10 days in late June (exact dates won't be determined until the spring, so we're asking interested folks to block off the last two weeks in June for now) and the estimated cost is around $1,700. One note: Because of the population of folks we are serving, Holt is requiring that all participants be COVID-19 vaccinated.
Canada (open to current 8th-12th graders as well as all other adults throughout the church): Much like our trip to Korea, this is a return to a place we are very familiar with — Malibu, a Young Life property along the Sunshine Coast in Canada. This trip is an opportunity to serve military families from Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington by serving as the work crew for a week-long family camp, doing everything from cleaning dishes and cooking food, to running a VBS-style camp for kids. The dates of this trip are August 15-22 and the cost is estimated to be around $350-400. One note: Canada is requiring all travelers to be COVID-19 vaccinated.
