As the Taliban seized control of power in Afghanistan, we were soberly reminded that we are facing an unprecedented global refugee crisis. Today an estimated 82.4 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes. While refugee resettlement is a complex geopolitical issue, the scriptures have much hope and instruction to offer to followers of Christ.
On October 8th Pastor Christopher will be joined by Salah Ansary (an Afghan refugee who has served as the senior director of Lutheran Community Services for the last 40 years in Portland). Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A panel with refugees and front-line faith leaders engaged in resettlement as well explore opportunities to serve refugee families in our city.
Friday, October 8 | 6:30-8:30pm | Sanctuary
