Embracing the Season

I’m thankful to live in the PNW where we have four recognizable seasons. I love each one for different reasons, and as one season fades, I find myself looking forward to the next one. At this point, I’m counting down to the official launch of summer on June 21st.

King Solomon reminds us in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance…

I find it healthy to mix things up, change my focus and create new routines as the seasons change. This is true in my personal life and in ministry too.

This is why I’m introducing two new men’s ministry opportunities this summer–Men’s Adventure and a Summer Book Study. The goal for both is simple: do something cool while connecting with other men from River West. Clicking on the links above will give you the details you need.

And on the theme of mixing things up, I’m also taking a break from writing the “Weekly Sharpening” this summer. I hope the last 51 posts have challenged, encouraged and equipped you as a man pursuing Christlikeness. If so, I’d love to hear from you.

The Lord has given me a stockpile of things to write about, and I’ll be back in September to share what He has placed on my heart.

Men, let’s embrace the summer and all that it holds!
