Community Groups are sermon-based small groups, made up of people from River West Church. They meet regularly to grow in discipleship to Jesus, share life together, and live out the Sunday teachings. These communities are at the very core of our life and mission as a church – “building a community of Christ for the world.”
Community Groups meet on many different days, at different times and locations throughout the Portland Metro area, and more groups are being started all the time. We strongly encourage everyone who is a part of River West Church to join a Community Group.
If you are interested in joining a River West Community Group, then your first step is to join us for this informational meeting! River West Community Groups are sermon-based home groups that meet regularly to grow in Christian faith and practice by doing life together.

Though Community Groups will most deeply integrate you into the life of our church, you might be in a season of looking for something more specific. Below are other options for community at River West that are still sermon-based small groups that meet to grow in discipleship to Jesus and live on mission.
This group is for young adults – single, engaged, or married – looking to grow in their faith, be connected to church, and build lasting friendships in their current season of life. We meet weekly for community group, have fun events, and seek to serve our city and church. The Singles Community offers connection, discipleship, and ministry opportunities for singles at any stage of life. From our weekly community group meetings to our once-a-month activities, this multi-generational community (ages 32 and above) provides a welcoming place for singles to share food, fun, and fellowship. Join us as we grow in our faith and find meaningful ways to support each other and minister to others.
This Men’s Community Group is different from the River West Men’s Ministry in that it meets weekly on Friday mornings for discussion around the Sunday sermon and passage, with an intentional time of prayer. If you’re interested, click the link below and a Leader will be in contact with you.
