Community Groups are sermon-based small groups, made up of people from River West Church. They meet regularly to grow in discipleship to Jesus, share life together, and live out the Sunday teachings. These communities are at the very core of our life and mission as a church – “building a community of Christ for the world.”
Community Groups meet on many different days, at different times and locations throughout the Portland Metro area, and more groups are being started all the time. We strongly encourage everyone who is a part of River West Church to join a Community Group.
If you are interested in joining a River West Community Group, then your first step is to join us for this informational meeting! River West Community Groups are sermon-based home groups that meet regularly to grow in Christian faith and practice by doing life together.
At this meeting, you will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of Christian community, discover the mission and values of the River West Community Group Ministry, and learn what it practically looks like to be a part of a group. We will end this class by going over practical next steps to starting a brand new Community Group.
We’re providing a Sunday lunch option and a Wednesday dinner option to help accommodate your schedule. Please RSVP below so we know know how much food to provide.

There are 5 new, open River West Community Groups ready to receive sign-ups for anyone looking to join one! Groups are by area/neighborhood, but anyone willing to commute to a group is invited to do so!

Details: Good fit for couples / individuals with no kids, empty-nesters, or parents of tweens and teens.

FAMILY GROUP
Location: ALOHA, BEAVERTON
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 6-7:30pm
Details: “Family Group”. This group is specifically for couples / individuals with young children, beginning with infants and up. The vision is to bring your family — kids included — to connect with other families in a similar stage. This group will work through a simplified curriculum and discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in this stage of life, in community with others!
To sign up for one of these groups and/or learn more, your first step is to attend our Joining a Community Group Information Meeting. A free meal is provided and there are two options for the meeting. Find more info or RSVP above.

Though Community Groups will most deeply integrate you into the life of our church, you might be in a season of looking for something more specific. Below are other options for community at River West that are still sermon-based small groups that meet to grow in discipleship to Jesus and live on mission.
This group is for young adults – single, engaged, or married – looking to grow in their faith, be connected to church, and build lasting friendships in their current season of life. We meet weekly for community group, have fun events, and seek to serve our city and church. The Singles Community offers connection, discipleship, and ministry opportunities for singles at any stage of life. From our weekly community group meetings to our once-a-month activities, this multi-generational community (ages 32 and above) provides a welcoming place for singles to share food, fun, and fellowship. Join us as we grow in our faith and find meaningful ways to support each other and minister to others.
This Men’s Community Group is different from the River West Men’s Ministry in that it meets weekly on Friday mornings for discussion around the Sunday sermon and passage, with an intentional time of prayer. If you’re interested, click the link below and a Leader will be in contact with you.
