May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 15:13

Over the last few years, the country of Myanmar has gone from an obscure, poor country in SE Asia to a fixture in our evening news. Since most of our news stories are focused around the Rohingya refugee crisis that’s occurring in the northern region of the country, it can leave you feeling like Myanmar is a country without much hope. However, if you were to look into the faces of the children in No Pum’s boarding homes you’d see a very different Myanmar. In spite of the harsh realities of injustice, civil war, and poverty, God is using these boarding homes to bring the hope of Christ to a predominately Buddhist country.

This Saturday, a team of doctors, nurses, and leaders from our church will be traveling to Myanmar to conduct wellness checks and share the hope of the Gospel with 150 boarding home students that our church supports. As our team prepares for our 24-hour flight to Myanmar, please join us in prayer for the following:

SUPPLIES | Please pray that our team will be able to arrive in Myanmar with all our luggage and pass through customs with the medical supplies we need to serve the boarding home students.

CONNECTIONS | As our team assesses the health care resources that are available in Myanmar, please pray that the Holy Spirit connects us with a network of local doctors and clinics we can partner with in the future.

HOPE | Above all, pray that the Lord will use our team in a powerful way to bear witness to the abounding hope we have in Christ!
